SCHOOL EXPERIENCE

Students will be hosted by American host families and will attend classes in local public High Schools. Our host families are middle- class families, who are willing to share their lives, hearts and home with a foreign high school student. American High Schools believe that the presence of international students enhances the learning environment; teachers expect them to be active in the school’s life. Extracurricular activities are offered by all schools: sports and music are really popular but photography or volunteer work may.

SCHOOL SYSTEM

Senior high school is a school attended after middle school or junior high

School in the American educational system. The curriculum is not standardized

and students may choose from a variety of subjects: English (Grammar, Writing, Literature, Theatre etc…), Physical Education including Medicine and Hygiene courses, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Social Sciences including the History of the United States and the Constitution of the US Government, Business, Psychology, Philosophy, Industrial design, Economy, etc.Classes start in August and finish in June.
